Following Monday night’s announcement by Government, we have had to make the regrettable decision to postpone any planned development opportunities for Under 17 & 18 players within the Academy Pathway.

Whilst the intention is to fulfil the Academy league fixtures during February and March, as allowed under the Elite Sport pathway exemption, other support activity currently sits outside of the framework and will be suspended until further notice.

What this means at it’s base level is we have a group of players who we are currently working with, and have completed all the necessary checks and are abiding with our COVID-19 protocols, to ensure we continue as safely as is possible and as such we are not able to extend the training group.

We fully understand that this is yet another disappointment to players who have had so many opportunities taken away over the last ten months. Please be assured that as soon as it becomes more feasible to do so, we will support and deliver a development pathway to those boys currently in U14-U17 age groups.

Please continue to maintain your positivity and show the great levels of resilience that you have all shown over these trying times and we look forward to being able to resume our pathway and development of players and coaches within it.
