The Rugby Football Union recently launched a new Club Accreditation scheme to help all rugby clubs in England become stronger, more effective, more efficient and more enjoyable places to play rugby.
We were among the first clubs to be awarded accreditation status, earning advantages like the Sport England Clubmark, recognising the excellence of their youth section together with increased status and credibility with local authorities, educational establishments and potential sponsors.
Accreditation was awarded at Twickenham Stadium as part of the Daily Mail Schools Day, when Community Game Board Chairman Rob Udwin and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Paul Murphy, presented a plaque for the clubhouse to Dave Meir and John Robertshaw.
John said Heath is a club at the heart of our community, running three adult sides, and two Junior. The U17s are currently National Cup (North) Winners and semifinalists in the Cup competition at National level whilst the First Team competes in Yorkshire 1.
Because of the rugby on offer at Heath, coupled with a home Rugby World Cup in 2015, we expect to attract even more members in the coming years. This is a great time for our sport and it's a great accolade for us to be awarded Club Accreditation. We had a great day at Twickenham and will continue to welcome everyone to Heath, where we can guarantee they will have a marvellous time and make lots of new friends.
Whether playing rugby, helping out as volunteers or simply coming along to watch the games, everyone is welcome and they can see from the plaque on the wall that we are right up there with the best!"
