Welcoming Jim McRobert
Congratulations Jim McRobert Appointed Yorkshire RFU County President
Yorkshire RFU is delighted to welcome Jim McRobert as its County President for the 2026/27 season.
Jim’s rugby journey began with Melbourne RFC in Derbyshire before he moved to the Yorkshire Dales and joined Wensleydale RUFC, playing predominantly at full-back.
After an ACL injury brought his playing career to an end—and with the arrival of his son, Jacob—Jim moved into coaching and began supporting Wensleydale’s junior section. His commitment to the club continued to grow, and he later became Club Secretary.
Jim subsequently became Vice-Chair of North Yorkshire before progressing to Chair. He has also held several important roles within Yorkshire RFU, contributing to Compliance, Nominations and the wider Yorkshire RFU Committee.
As President, Jim is passionate about bringing people together, turning ideas into action and ensuring that decisions are made for the good of rugby throughout Yorkshire.
Jim said:
“I am keen to see less talking and more action, with everyone working together for the good of rugby across Yorkshire. Games are won on the grass, not in the clubhouse.”
Yorkshire RFU looks forward to working with Jim throughout the 2026/27 season and wishes him every success in his role as President.
