YORKSHIRE 0 - 31 DURHAM COUNTY MATCH REPORT
We welcomed Durham to Keighley on Sunday 18th January for our 2nd fixture of the 2025/26 season. After a strong performance against Leicestershire in December we were hopeful of a similar outcome.
Unfortunately Durham had other ideas and whilst we were able to match the physicality of their forwards in the loose and in the scrums we struggled to compete with the pace of game on the AGP and the athleticism of the Durham backs.
This enabled them to exploit space out wide, where most of their tries came from within their own half on the back of some impressive tactical decision making by the Durham half-backs.
Despite the loss, the coaches and I remain very proud of the effort and dedication of this group of Yorkshire players and the positive attitude which they all have both on and off the pitch when representing their county.
We’ll regroup and look forward to our final fixture away against Cumbria in February.
