Having been honoured to become this years Yorkshire President, I have decided to step aside as County Chair of Coaching after eight years

I would like to take this opportunity in thanking every County Coach, and shadow coach during this time.  All of you have made an outstanding contribution to your respective playing teams, be boys, girls, men and women.

This June was special, with the two County Championship Finals. A well-deserved Women’s Seniors lifting the trophy at Twickenham, and the Men losing out so narrowly. Congratulations to Tom Baxter Tim Wicks, Simon Betty and Justin Hall for preparing the women’s squad

My special thanks go to Pete Taylor, and Dan Scarborough who have turned the fortunes of the Men’s Seniors around and have dedicated so much time and effort into preparing the team.

I mustn’t forget Callum Irvine, who has been a big part of the coaching team, and as Pete and Dan stand down, I am delighted that Callum together with Joe Makin have accepted the roles of Coaching the County XV next season, two great young coaches to continue the success seen over the past three years.

The County is in a strong place when it comes to pedigree of Representative Coaches, and I enjoyed every minute being in their company, whether co coaching, or mentoring

I will continue to coach the Girls Academy, and work for the RFU delivering Safeguarding and Coaching Courses
