JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Team manager – YORKSHIRE TERRIERS 7s
Nature and Scope:
The Team Manager is a volunteer role.
The team manager will report directly to the County Teams Committee, liaise with Allan Secker and the County Coaching Chair
Responsibilities:
1. Working in conjunction with the coaching and medical teams to provide all administrative support and leadership to the 7s group squad.
2. Arrange, training and matches in accordance with the 7s Playing Calendar.
3. Maintain an up to date database of players.
4. Informing all squad members of relevant meetings, coaching sessions and matches.
5. Contact Organising 7s Tournaments to enter the team
6. Managing the kit / equipment requirements of players and personnel.
7. Attending meetings, coaching sessions and matches.
8. Attend County Teams’ meetings and provide reports.
9. Assisting in the appointment of the 7s team coaches.
10. Manage the budget provided by the County and Yorkshire Terriers
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience
• Be IT literate and manage information on the county website.
Skills and Personal Attributes
• Organisation- The smooth running of the playing side of the squad will be dependant upon the effective administration of the manager.
• Commitment and Enthusiasm- This position will require a large time commitment involving both evenings and week-ends for training and matches.
• Team work- The team manager needs to set the standards and to be able to work effectively with the players, coaches, selectors, medics and the county committees.
• Planning- Meeting deadlines will be essential for the squad to function effectively.
• Personality- The post will create pressure spots and the manager needs both coping strategies and a sense of humour
• Man management skills- This is key to the effective running of any team.
Additional Information
• This position will require a time commitment involving both evenings and weekends for training and matches and travel across the North of England
• The term for this role is 2 years subject to an annual review, with a further 2 years available.
