Yorkshire U18s County Squad travelled to the North of England Festival hosted this year by Cheshire at Lymm RUFC
In wet and windy conditions Yorkshire edged a close encounter 31 to 24
After going behind early on tries came from Captain Ethan Marshall & back rower Reuben Jansen fellow Van Rensberg with both converted by Henry Clegg to set the score at 12 -12 by half time
Gaining the upper hand in the second half and scrum dominance saw Prop Will Carver go over followed by a great snipping run and try by Joe Gerkin for a second try both again converted by Henry Clegg
Free following towards the end the try of the match was levelled up with an unfortunate interception try by Northumberland but this dominance then led to the best try of the match finishing by Winger Luca Orchard out wide
The North selectors reported being suitably impressed by both Teams so we now move onto our home game vs Cheshire @ Keighley RUFC on Dec 7th KO 3pm under lights
The Coaches led a session at Yarnbury on Dec 5th to iron out the improvements sought following review of the game by Veo ... well done to Northumberland for a close encounter and a game played in the right spirit of development rugby
Congratulations to the Yorkshire squad on the day .... upwards and onwards to Keighley
