Job Title: YORKSHIRE TERRIERS 7s COACH
Nature and Scope
• The Position is a volunteer role
• The successful Coach will report to the Chair of Coach Development and will be responsible for co-ordinating the coaching teams
Responsibilities
• To plan, in conjunction with the Team Manager, individual coaching sessions for the season.
• To plan, prepare and deliver individual coaching sessions for the squad that are designed to develop the skills and understanding of the players in the squad.
• To evaluate all coaching sessions and games with the coaching team, team managers and players.
• To attend all coaching sessions, and matches.
• To provide an end of season report to the Team Manager, and the Chair of Coach Development.
• Carry out your responsibilities within any budgets set.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
• RFU Coaching level 2 or above.
• A high understanding of the playing 7s
Skills and Personal Attributes
• Punctuality – you will set an example for the standards for the squad.
• Planning – you will work with other Coaches in planning the coaching programme for the season as well as individual sessions.
• Strong team player who is able to effectively communicate and engage with widely differing individuals
• Willingness to commit the time to be an effective Coach.
Additional Information
• This position will require a large time commitment involving both evenings and weekends for training and matches and travel across the districts.
• The term for this role is 2 years subject to an annual review, with a further two years available.
